About NHSmail

NHSmail is a free service for NHS employees and allows trainees to retain the the same email address throughout their career.

This email account is internet based and is accessible at work, home and on the move. The service also provides the facility to send SMS text and fax messages from email and is the only approved email system allowing the secure exchange of patient identifiable information.

Important information

Mersey Deanery’s only electronic communication system with ALL trainees in Mersey Deanery will be via NHSmail. It is therefore mandatory that trainees activate an account. The Deanery will be monitoring the activation of accounts to ensure that all trainees comply with this requirement.

Each trainee is responsible for the proper governance of his or her own training, no allowance will be made for claims that appropriate information has not been received if a trainee does not have an NHSmail account registered at the Deanery.

For those trainees who have not yet activated his/her NHSmail account, please visit the NHSmail website.

Further information

For further help and advice please refer to the further guidance documents (you must access this link from an NHS networked computer) or contact the Deanery's NHSmail helpdesk.
